Integrated Teacher Training (ITT) is a comprehensive training program using the exercises developed by Joseph Pilates to understand and appreciate movement with sound biomechanics. This program is for people interested in learning an integrative approach to physical conditioning and corrective therapeutic exercise. This comprehensive program allows you to help your clients reach their potential for healthy, balanced bodies.

We offer two Pilates Teacher Training programs: ITT Mat Training and ITT Comprehensive (Mat and Apparatus) Training. Each Teacher Training Program has its own prerequisites, required courses and final exam. Certificates are awarded at the completion.

All the classes we offer can be taken as individual workshops.

ITT Pilates Mat Training

The Mat Training program includes Movement Anatomy for Pilates Instructors, Essential Exercises and Mat intensives. This in-depth training focuses on teaching the student to embody, learn, and apply the ITT Pilates principles with the anatomical intelligence, insightful, and intuitive verbal and tactile cueing. The goal is to provide you with a program that develops excellent teaching skills, confidence, and marketability for employment upon your completion.

Schedule

Prerequisite:

A minimum of 15 Mat classes prior to training approved by ITT Pilates.
Must provide a letter of recommendation from a certified Pilate’s instructor or a movement teacher.

Required Courses:

Movement Anatomy for Mat Instructors (5 hours)
Essential Exercises (20 hours)
Intensive Mat Class (20 hours)
Additional requirements:
You must complete 15 hours of Mat Teaching Practice,  15 hours of Mat Personal Practice, and 10 hours of mat observation/or taking classes.

Materials:

Essential Exercises ($30) purchase from Studio M
Integrated Exercises ($30) purchase from Studio M
Trail Guide to the Body ($54.20) – There is required reading for the Essential Exercises class from this book. It is recommended that you purchase it as early as possible to allow time to do the readings before class.

Final Exam:

You must take a written and practical exam within two weeks after you complete the Integrated Mat Intensive. The exam is 3 hours long.

ITT Comprehensive (Mat and Apparatus) Training

The Comprehensive Training program includes the mat training as described; apparatus pre-training; apparatus intensives and program design. This in-depth training focuses on teaching the student to embody, learn, and apply the ITT Pilates principles with the anatomical intelligence, insightful, and intuitive verbal and tactile cueing. The goal is to provide you with a program that develops excellent teaching skills, confidence, and marketability for employment upon your completion.

Schedule
Courses are primarily scheduled on weekends with an addition of a Friday class for the Comprehensive Pre-Training and course labs. The time between courses will be used for observation, self practice and student teaching. An additional 7-10 hours per week is necessary to integrate the material and complete the required hours prior to the Certification exam.

The Comprehensive Training Program including workshops, labs, and studio hours (observation, practice and student teaching). All course work and required hours must be completed during the time period scheduled and prior to scheduled exam. After you have met all the requirements and passed the final examination, a certificate of completion will be awarded. The ITT Comprehensive Training prepares you to successfully pass the PMA, Pilates Method Alliance national certification exam.

Prerequisite:

Required: a minimum of 10 private sessions on the equipment prior to training. Enrollment in the Apparatus Pre-Training course. Must provide a letter of recommendation from a certified Pilate’s instructor or movement teacher. Recommended a minimum of 30 hours of personal practice in Pilates. Recommended a minimum of 2 years experience in movement, dance, yoga, etc. ITT Pilates Mat Certification is highly recommended.

Reformer Labs I & II (6 hours)
Cadillac Intensive (20 hours)
Cadillac Labs I & II (6 hours)
Auxiliary Equipment (15 hours)
Auxiliary Lab I (3 hours)
Postural Analysis and Program Design (10 hours)

Additional Requirements:

You must complete 60 hours of Personal Observation, 75 hours of Personal Practice and 100 hours of Student Teaching Practice. All hours must be logged and submitted to Studio M office before you take the final exam.

Materials:

ITT Manuals are provided at each course. It is recommended to purchase the manuals prior to course start date. Trail Guide to the Body ($54.20) – There is required reading for the Essential Exercises class from this book. It is recommended that you purchase it as early as possible to allow time to do the readings before class.

Final Exam:

You must take a written and practical exam as scheduled.

Certification Fee:

$4675 for Comprehensive training
$4100 with previous Mat Certification
